Behold, I'm an artist

I broke the tradition, in more ones then one this week. Firstly, it's my second blog in a month and secondly I missed the Thursday coast trip due to a lovely hooker named Daisy cold. Such is life (e-cookie to whoever can tell me who said this
). Anyway, my weeks of blowing off uni have came back to bite me on the ass, so this weekend is pretty much jam packed with uni aside from Saturday's coast trip.
One of my uni subjects is a reasonably arty class, which is fun, although I suck at art and often get lost in the lecture (yeah I've only attended one in four) when they go off a tangent about famous artists and what not. The subject leads into multimedia within IT, so it'll be handy for when (if) I actually start doing Web Development work. At the moment I'm catching up on doing a journal of various pieces, which had my last night highlighting a seven page copyright document. This particular piece is where I transform one of my ink drawings of a famous art into a digital image on Photoshop using the pen tool (I think this is meant to imply vectorness). I've just finished after about an hour's work and thought I'd display my awesome display of artistic skills.
Enjoy, OaO.
Not So Cryptic Writings

I think you'll squeal with excitement that this entry is nowhere near as cryptic as the last. Yes, it's time for my monthly update (that I wish was something more along the lines of daily) and I've gotta be honest and say that I've really done little in the past month.
In the last week of February I did a Bar Course at the Indooroopilly Hotel to get my RSA. It was an experience, but it's now been nearly 3 weeks later and I still don't have a job from it (or my actual hardcopy RSA certificate either) so that's a bit disappointing. However, things are looking up as I might have scored a position working at the Glen Hotel thanks to a few old family ties and friendships.
I treated myself to a new 30GB Ipod and I gotta say it's worth every cent. I'm a big music lover and you just appreciate it so much more when your doing nothing but walking and absorbing the sounds. I've started to put my DVD's onto it too starting with the classic Dodgeball but also That 70's Show and Scrubs.
I've still managed to continue the tradition of going to the beach every Thursday and Saturday (albeit a few odd days) which I'm proud of. I started the week after uni (my count, first week of November) and it's now march and I'm still powering through. I think that brings my beach trip count up to something around 30 times. It's been great fun though and the 6am start really wakes you up and helps you get the most out of your day. It's also helped me build a nice tan that I hope won't fade too much through winter. I don't see the tradition stopping anytime soon as the water is still really warm!
Next summer I'm really looking forward to renting a house down at the Gold Coast for a few weeks. It'd be a great experience and a good getaway from the city life.
I've discovered a new website that I think everyone should jump onto and have a play with called 43things. It's basically just a to-do list, but how you use it is up to you. You can play long term or short term and the best thing is you join hundreds (sometimes thousands) all looking to achieve the same things. Once people achieve their goals they often reply saying whether it was worth it or not and offer advice. It's a really good motivation tool and helps you get on track. The site also branches out into 43places, which is like a travel type site, where you make a list of all the places in the world you'd like to travel. The site and possibilities are huge, so instead of me trying to explain it, just sign up and trying using it! Amy and myself have ![]()
I've been slowly working in a geek sense at the new version of the-group including the blogging system so that it's easier to use for everyone, faster and alot cooler. Uni is upon me and the weird tendency to start to love programming is starting again so progress should speed up and I'll have it finished as soon as I can. If there's any features, bugs, or just things you want in the new version, leave a comment.
Uni has started again and after skipping the first two weeks due to laziness and working I'm already behind but hoping to catch it up fairly quickly. My hours aren't as bad as I thought, I go Monday, Tuesday and Thursday which still leaves me with a long weekend! I went to class today and XML at 9am just doesn't seem right. I also saw Tara from Runcorn, long time no see and she's looking pretty good and seems fairly chirpy.
On March 29th, I'm going to Thirsty Merc with Amy, Jess, Benji, Dani and Mel and I can't fucking wait. I'm really starting to dig Thirsty Merc at the moment and it should be a very chilled out sorta night. I'm looking forward to it! The following month I've got The Red Hot Chili Peppers with Jess and Danman and then Lamb of God with Yeatsie and possibly a third gig, Slayer with myself. Awesome!
There you have it, the last month and a bit of a preview for the next month, have a good one.
