I had a somewhat eventful weekend. Turns out we bought the Lancer and the Chazza is still in the garage for repairs. I managed to break the cam shaft and head gasket somehow so the repair bill on that is going to be hefty, but worth it because it'll run like a new car once it's fixed. We're hoping to sell it for around 4 grand. The Lancer is alright, I've yet to drive anyone in it as it's unnamed, and well, you just don't do things like that without names. The sound system in it is stock, so I'll be saving for a new one of those amongst car repayments/insurance/repairs.
I scored the job at 1st Choice in the end, I got a phone call last Sunday asking if I wanted a job in another area of the store so I had my first shift on Saturday. It's a fairly relaxed work environment and the people seem pretty friendly. The pay is almost $19/hr so I am cheering! I work there 10 hours a week, but still nearly $200 before tax (oh tax..
). At the moment I'm paying a huge amount in tax because I'm still keeping my Brodies job, until financial year at least then I'll reconsider my options.
Saturday night I had the Lamb of God concert and it was pretty intense. I haven't heard much of their material so it was pretty much a random concert, but it was well worth the $45~. The mosh was probably the craziest I've ever seen but it was alot of fun. Highlights were Walk With Me in Hell and Now You've Got Something to Die For. When the concert finished everyone piled out onto Brunswick Street effectively closing it off which called the cops to come on down and flash some sirens. What happened next was awesome, instead of all the metalheads moving, they swarmed the car and starting chanting 'Lamb of God' over and over. Such a surreal thing to see, especially in Brisbane.
Last night I went to Sizzler with Kyle, Benji, Cam, Kiren and Nesh. It was pretty fun, alot of random jokes and humour here and there. We managed to steal a dessert bowl with Nesh wearing it as a Jewish cap on his head as he walked out, while I managed to snag a supply of jellybeans for the adventure ahead. Originally we were going to see a movie for free courtesy of Nesh, but in the end we decided to go to Slaughter Falls to conquer it.
Nesh brought along a mate, Phil, and off we went. For once there was a few people hanging around there, mainly just smoking up and getting high, but it was good to see some form of life around. We wandered up the deserted road and eventually got to the trail and we headed towards the JC Slaughter Falls walk which was 600 odd meters. After passing a number of 'interesting' Aboriginal artworks and avoiding Benji's bombs, we missed the turn to the actual Falls and instead walked a big circle around the mountain and back to where we started. Doh, easy way to kill an hour. Definitely would of loved to have seen the looks on the stoner's faces when we walked down the road acting like zombies from Shaun of the Dead ![]()
And that brings me to now. 8.52am and I'm meant to be walking across George Street normally on a Monday morning, but instead I'm feeling a bit shoddy from dripping in sweat Saturday night and walking around a bush track at 10.30 last night so I skipped the first half of my lecture this morning. I really couldn't be fucked going at all today, but I need to as a group assignment is being released in t-minus 2 hours and 7 minutes and I don't want to be stuck with dipshits.
